Pinterest-Worthy Garden Party Bridal Shower Ideas
We’re well into the summer, but if you’re like me, you still have plenty of weddings coming up, and the bridal showers that go along with them! And whether you’re a bride, or a bridesmaid who’s been charged with planning the perfect shower, then you’ll love what we’re talking about today--amazing bridal shower ideas that will easily make your planning a dream.
Let’s be honest, planning a bridal shower can be super fun—but it can also be super daunting, especially when you want to create a Pinterest-worthy event without spending a fortune. As someone who not only loves love (yay!), but interior design, I’m so ready to share some of my favorite bridal shower ideas. With a little creativity and some strategic planning, you can throw an unforgettable floral bridal shower that your guests will adore!
Choosing a Color Palette
Let’s start at the beginning. And when planning a bridal shower, picking out the perfect color palette is the best place to start! It’s going to set the tone for your shower and will make it feel cohesive. The colors you choose can be part of a theme, but I tend to start with the color palette instead—it gives you a bit more freedom to pick décor that you may love but doesn’t necessarily play to a theme.
So, how do you pick the right palette? I like a color palette made up of 3 to 4 colors, with one main color and the others as complementary accents. For instance, a lovely color palette for a bridal shower could be a blush pink as the main color, with accents of pale blue, sage green, and white. Not only is it a stunning combination—it fits perfectly if you’d like to take it a step further and have a theme--like a garden party bridal shower. Those colors are soft, romantic and reflect the floral colors we see in nature. Add in some gold accents and your shower will be elegant and picture-perfect!
Decorating with Purpose
When it comes to décor for your bridal shower—think focused and purposeful. We don’t do haphazard! Each piece, and how it’s placed is important to the overall look. If you want to make sure your guests are blown away, you’ll want to pay special attention to creating visual interest through height, shape, and texture. Just remember, you don’t want anything that would block someone’s view of the main table or the festivities!
Centerpieces and Floral Arrangements
The best piece of advice I have for any tea party bridal shower table (and any table in general, really)—is start in the middle! Creating a focal point and working out from there will be the easiest way to build a breathtaking display for your guests. My favorite centerpieces? Flowers, of course! You can’t have a floral bridal shower without flowers! When creating your arrangements, aim to use odd numbers because it tends to look more natural and balanced. For instance, you can have one large arrangement as the centerpiece and three smaller ones scattered around the table.
If you want to make your arrangements extra special, incorporate a shower gift for the bride! Using a teapot that was gifted and adding in the floral arrangement is a fun touch for the bride, knowing that not only is it a lovely decoration–it’s hers to keep!
Add Some Height with Candlesticks
Using tall elements like taper candlesticks on your tables will draw the eye upward and add a touch of sophistication—and they also bring a sense of romance and timelessness to the space! Look for taper candlesticks in various materials like brass, silver, or glass and mix them with shorter items like small floral arrangements or tea lights to create depth.
Play with Shape with Antique Decor
Don’t be afraid to mix things up! One of my favorite ways to play with shape and add some charm and elegance is with antique decor—specifically antique serving pieces and trays. This is a great opportunity to be budget-mindful because you might already have some lovely old pieces at home, but if not, don’t worry! You can find fantastic options at thrift stores, flea markets, or antique shops. Look for silver platters, delicate porcelain dishes, and brass trays to enhance your bridal shower food table. Function and beauty? Yes, please!
Incorporate Texture with Glass and Crystal
We love it when décor pops! Displaying your treats (like gorgeous cookies) on glass and crystal cake plates adds a lovely layer of sophistication to your bridal shower food table! They also make wonderful vessels for silverware–making even the simplest things look pretty. Crystal and glass are so great because they’re clear—so this creates the illusion of more space and won’t make the table feel overcrowded. Place them at different heights using cake stands or stacking them to add dimension to your table.
Personal Touches
I just love this part! Adding personal touches to your decor makes the event feel even more special. One easy and meaningful way to do this is by incorporating framed photographs of the bride and groom throughout the venue. Using frames that accent your color palette (I love gold!), place the framed photos on guest tables and the dessert table for guests to admire. And whether you have your own antique pieces, have found some incredible antique frames on your search for antique decor, or even purchased new ones that mimic the vintage look, these frames are perfect for showcasing photos of special moments. It’s a personal touch that everyone truly loves.
